Older Female Cat
passed away June 23rd 2009
I found this sweet little girl on my way to work early in the morning.
She was staggering down the side of the road, wobbling and weaving as
cars drove by and people in their homes went about their business. I
stopped and got out and she looked up at me and tried to meow and fell over and
just laid there. I took her to the vet when they opened two hours later.
I paid them to put her down as I knew she was in real bad shape. They
decided to try and give her a chance as she wanted to live. I visited her every
day, pet her, talked to her and tried to let her know she was not
alone any more. The kind people at the clinic, had to force feed her,
gave her an IV to rehydrate her. She weighed barely more then four
pounds. She did not make eye contact, couldnt walk any more, but she
started eating and drinking on her own. The doctor told me not to get my hopes up
or get attached, he said she is so dehydrated that it more then
likely effected her organs. He did unrine tests, not good. He did
bloodwork after five days, as he had to hydrate her to get enough blood. The results
came back, she had kidney damage and severe liver damage. He said
he would let her live a few days as she was feeling better. My last
visit with her was priceless. She looked me in eye, purred, kneaded and put her
tail up when I pet her. I didn't know at the time, but she was
saying goodbye. She passed away that night in her sleep. RIP sweet
girl, you touched many hearts and you are very missed.
