SEATTLE, Ore. - The Humane Society of the United States is offering a $2,500 reward after two kittens were thrown out of a moving car on a Portland bridge.

The Humane Society is offering money for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible. One of the kittens was injured. The other died.

It happened earlier this month. The kittens were thrown out the window on the Fremont Bridge.

One kitten was brought into Dove Lewis Animal Hospital.

Officials say he had scraped toes and some soft-tissue damage. But the second kitten had to have surgery. Because of the severity of its injuries, it had to be euthanized.

A witness has identified a car possibly involved in the incident. It is described as an older model red car, possibly a hatchback
